Noorderlicht shows in Museum Opsterlân artists who explore alternative ways of dealing with agricultural life. How do we as humans relate to nature, and in what ways can we work together to improve our own well-being and that of the planet?

With REGENERATE as its theme, the 2023 festival brings together works that explore the changes facing modern society. Where people may feel displaced by all the current changes in the world, regeneration means looking at a way to deal with those changes together with the world, its inhabitants, and nature. A new vision of the future in which all parties involved are in balance: humans, animals, technology, and nature. We, therefore, look at the festival from three perspectives: REGENERATE LIFE, REGENERATE OURSELVES, and REGENERATE SOCIETY.

The works shown in Museum Opsterlân are by photographers Bob Miller (United States), Fatma Çelik (Turkey), and Sabine Grootendorst (Netherlands). They focus on REGENERATE LIFE. The full festival program can be found at noorderlicht.com.
